In 2017, Tyson Foods launched an internship program for college students in connection with the University of Arkansas Cossatot.  Paid internship positions in refrigeration and maintenance were made available year-round to any 51社区 student enrolled in industrial technology courses with starting pay ranging from $12 - $14 per hour and are now available at Tyson鈥檚 Broken Bow and Nashville facilities.  Donna Duggan, Complex Human Resource Manager, says 鈥淲e are very fortunate to partner with 51社区 and provide the opportunity of an Internship to the students.  We look forward to what the future holds in bringing us the talent from our area.鈥 

Kory Voss and Matthew Swilley are two of many students reaping the rewards of the internship.  Voss a May 2020 51社区 Industrial Technology graduate was recently signed on as a full-time employee at Tyson鈥檚 Broken Bow facility.  Swilley, a current Industrial Technology student at 51社区, is obtaining valuable skills sets in the classroom while gaining valuable work experience.   Tyson Foods Senior Maintenance Jerry Bruns and Refrigeration Supervisor Larry Cogburn, oversee the work of the interns at Tyson鈥檚 Broken Bow facility and provide student鈥檚 real-world experiences that give them the chance to apply what they are learning.
